The one who waits

The protagonist of this story would be the men that landed on Mars. Their desire is to look around Mars, but at the end two of them end up dead while the rest want to go back to Earth. Some traits that characterize the protagonist are that they describe how they are coming in a rocket and they are scientists running test on the well they’ve notice. The antagonist would be the martian’s entity in the well. The martian’s entity is trying to stop the men from leaving because it’s been a while, ten thousands year since life had been in Mars. The theme of this story is the embarrassment of human existence in the universe. The techniques that are used to develop the message within the story would be the fact that the men are being controlled by a martian in the well that gets into their minds and ends up killing them. The crisis action would be when Jones is dead and the rest decide to leave but then the captain shoots himself in the head. The protagonists don’t achieve what they want because they all end up dead. What I enjoyed about this story is the fact that it’s in a whole different world and the fact that they land in a place where life is gone and they are being mind controlled by a martian in a well.
