Everrything went wrong

Delmy Del Cid
Sudden Fiction

I knew things went wrong when I lost my virginity. He wasn’t the same, he was distant from me. I barely saw him and when I did, he was in some other world.

“What’s wrong babe?” was the same question since everything went wrong. It was on a sunny day in Tampa, Florida where I first saw him. His name was Andrew, tall; light skin, pink lips, and dark long hair. When I saw him I was like I fell in love with him and I didn’t want to lose him.

“Hi, I am Andrew”

“Hi, I am Andrea” were the first words we ever said to each other. I never imagined myself without him two years after that day. Every moment of our lives we spent with each other. I grew up in Tampa, Florida and I lived with my mother. People always knew me as the sky and girly girl from the block. I had friends but some of them were back stabbers and I didn’t get along with them. That day when I first saw Andrew, I knew we had to each other and spending time together.

“Andrea, do you want to come to a party with me this Saturday night?” yeah sure why not.” The night was full of surprises; the summer breeze was warm and there were flowing heat waves around. The moon was at the crest stage and it illuminated the whole night sky. A walk on the beach was all it took for a “yes”. Weeks passed like waves on an ocean moving toward the sand. Andrew was not only hot and tall but he was a soccer player and he we both shared the passion for the sport. We learned different things from each other every day. We reached the maximum stage of our relationship; we made a whole year together. He doubted me because we were in different schools but we proved to each other our loyalty and commitment to each other. That night we spent it together, laying on the warm sand and looking up at the stars.

“Andrew, I’m ready”

“Are you sure?”

“Yes, I trust you with everything.”

“I could never hurt you, ever.”

“I know you wouldn’t.” Rolling all over the sand, the water hitting our bodies, cause chills on our skins. The night was warm and we were all alone in the beach, we spend it together and had the most member able night ever. I knew that I made the right choice in losing my virginity to him. After that night, a couple of weeks passed and things started to change. Days moved at the speed of light. A year after everything went wrong; we went our separate ways and disappeared in the dark. Everything changed and I didn’t see life as I before. A whole 2 years passed and Andrew didn’t finish his accomplishments, and soon he was going to be a baby daddy.

Reflection: I learned from the workshop process that everyone makes mistakes and no one has the perfect draft once they have finished their first one. Also I learned that being able to identity your mistakes, can lead in becoming a better editor and a writer too. Also I learned that people that edited my paper know where my weaknesses are and they tell me all about them.
